Course Description:   

This two hour webinar will detail the challenges that beset the digit within the context of tissue healing, intrinsic anatomy and cortical integration. The principles of wound healing will be applied as a baseline for clinical decision-making within the framework of individual patient anatomy and cortical nuance. All content, images and videos presented were taken in preparation for this presentation. This will be an unparalleled two hour event that is open to the new graduate, CHT candidate, or seasoned occupational or physical therapist who is serious about their lifelong study of the hand and upper extremity.

 

Objectives: 

  • Examine the pathoanatomy and dysfunction common to the digit.
  • Detail the phases of tissue healing in the management of the stiff finger.
  • Discuss clinical decision-making of the stubborn and stiff finger in relation to the phases of tissue healing.
  • Highlight the interrelationship between tissue healing, intrinsic anatomy and cortical integration.
